Anju Panta grabs limelight at Hits FM Award
The 13th Close Up Hits FM Music Award looked like has dedicated the function to singer Anju Panta for she bagged most of the titles including Best Female Vocal Performance and Best Record of the Year for 'Nabirse Timilai...' on Friday. Singer Anju Panta, however, was not in the function to receive the awards.
Held at Army Officer's Club in Bhadrakali, veteran lyricist and music composer Dr. Ram Man Trishit was felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the hands of prominent singers Prem Dhoj Pradhan and Meera Rana. 'It is a great honor to me to get this opportunity to hand over the award to Trishit for I have always been a great fan of him,' Pradhan shared. 'We have been good friends always.'
In other categories, upcoming singer Shreya Sotang took away Best Pop Vocal Female and Deepesh Kishor Bhattarai earned Best Pop Vocal Male. Best Vocal Performance Male went to Jagadish Samal, Best Rock Pop Vocal Performance was taken by Ram Krishna Dhakal while Sailesh Singh's Sandhi became the Album of the Year. Rashtrakabi Madhav Prasad Ghimire's 'Yo Chhaya Chabi...' was titled Song of the Year as Satya Raj and Swaroop Raj Acharya's 'Shayad Mayama...' became Best Song Recorded for a Motion Picture and Uday Manila Sotang got the Best Vocal Collaboration title.
Likewise Shreya Sotang got awarded with Best New Artist, Chakra Bhusan Rai's 'Gudi Jane Rail...' bagged Best Folk Album of the Year, Krishna Devkota clinched Best Folk Record of the Year, Ram Sitaula's 'Pal Pal...' became Best Pop Composition and Mahesh Khadka's 'Na Birse Timilai...' succeeded being Best Music Composition. Fanindra Rai got felicitated as Best Music Arranger and Lochan Rijal's 'Prashna' got awarded Best Rock Composition.
This year, Hits FM paid its tribute to veteran music composer and singer late Ram Thapa for his unforgettable contributions to Nepali music industry over the decades.
